Spunky! Welcome!

Have a look around the place, feel free to say hi, ask questions, tell us a bit about yourself ...

You won't have full access as a Guest, but you'll be able to read some topics, post in others, and start new threads in a couple.

Hi Spunky!

I'm Roby, I run the Maps/WC/Sand/Gift Shop. I'm the newest and smallest member of the mall.

Look forward to hearing more about you.

Roby.

Thanks for the welcomes already! It's very exciting to jump in and see your name spashing around Smile

Some info about me for those I haven't met before:

I am relatively new to malling - started just two months ago with a size 80-ish shop. Now I am size 214 and growing all the time Very Happy
Unfortunately my old mall fell apart due to some issues between a couple of the older members. My category was Light faerie/album items, but I've sold most of my stock to a friend over the last couple of days. Whoever has that category here, I'll be reducing my prices to SSW over the next day or so Smile

My real name is Carley, feel free to call me that or spunky - whatever you prefer. I am a high school english teacher (part-time). I also study part-time and have a 2 year old, so my life can be a bit crazy sometimes! Um...don't know if there's anything else much to tell. Ask me any questions you have!

PostSubject: Sales tracking   spunky_munky_gal I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 01, 2008 6:10 pm

I was reading a discussion in another thread about tracking sales.

I downloaded a program called Neomallers Portal, which has a great user interface and a lot of cool features, like an item database where you C&P your shop front and it tells you what is out of stock and what is low (and you can keep track of wiz pricing of items and make notes about items. Also keeps a record of how many of each item you have sold), tracking individual customers, upgrade calc etc.

I find it really excellent because it really only requires C&Ping. I'll have a hunt for the link and post it here later.

Thanks you guys for welcoming Spunky. I've got some RL stuff going on, so I can only pop in a few minutes here and there.

Spunky, that program sounds like it's worth reviewing. I think this is the link for it:
http://www.neomallers.com/

The NeoHangout one doesn't look like it will have enough functionality, to me, so I'm gong to do a comparison. I'll personally still rely on Richie's Sales Tracker though.

We haven't quite decided what categories we have for you, but would you consider Neohome and Neogarden? That is our immediate need. I see you have concert tickets, too. Would you like to keep them? I have a Concert banner you could take.

Sure, sounds good! Concert tickets was free domain for me previously. I am happy to take whatever category/ies the mall sees fit Smile Just let me know what/when to stock and I should be able to start straight away. In fact tomorrow (Sunday evening NST) I have the day at my disposal, so I should be able to get things organised, if it suits.

That is the correct link Egg, thanks for googling it for me.

Hi Spunky, welcome!!! We have a good thing going here in our mall. I'm sure you will like the community spirit. I remember you were a good player in the survivor game on the daq. You might remember that I was involved in a "tempest in a teapot" situation in that game. Rolling Eyes I'm a teacher at the local university. zoro

edit - I can't tell from looking will neomallers work for macs? It says its for windows. I have windows on my mac.

Hi I'm Ryan/tsangpo or g4kki on neodaq so I recognise you from there.

I'm also Australian but a uni student studying engineering. Good to have another antipodean in here Wink. With your stamp stock I'd be quite happy to buy 1 million nps worth (maybe more if I have a couple of good days of sales) of it for just above shop wiz value.

Zoro - neomallers works on a linux so I assume it probably works on a Mac

Hi zoro & ryan!

ryan - would you prefer me to price them in my shop? Let me know a rough time so they don't get snapped up by other mallers.

zoro - I think I remember reading on the forum that it does work for macs, but I'm not sure. What do you teach? I'm currently studying my masters part time Smile

I'm excited :clapclap:

Hi Spunky! Smile

I am the resident petpet person, as well as the person in charge of html coding. Any help you need in that regard just let me know.

I have been playing neopets for (gah!) six years now. Eggwalterpunk is my mother. I am a teacher, and my goal in neopets is to eventually get an avatar for the stamp album (good luck, I know!).

Do you have any goals in neopets that we can help you with? Etc. Smile

I'm about half way through if you want to get started - I think some are already selling.

Just check the more expensive ones - I got wiz banned so I'm working from my database at the moment.

Hi Xaheras! Thanks for the welcome Smile

My goals...lol, there are a few I suppose. I am an avvie collector too, and I'm slowly working on those. My gallery and neohome will be my next projects - I have a Hamlet gallery that I'm working on and want my neohome to be in a similar style, but that's a long term project. I also need to learn how to do coding so I can use something other than the basic formatting for my gallery, lol.

In the more immediate future, I want to get to spooky marketplace before christmas. Between my shares, food club and shop I'm hoping to make enough NP to get there. Then I'll reassess and make a goal for island Cool

Ryan - if you are around, I've finished pricing my stamps.

Hi Spunky! Sorry for the late welcome, but for some reason this thread never showed any unread posts for me; had Egg not sent me a message I would have never looked.

Anyway, I am the local food and drink shop. I am pretty impressed with your shop upgrades; that is a nice jump in size for such a short time. Sounds like Egg is getting you lined out with a category. I am happy to welcome you into the mall.

Thanks for the tip on the shop tools, because I have currently been testing Neohangout and NeoDaq; it will be nice to have a third option.

Ling flower Chi

Never mind about not seeing unread posts; I just found out why when I tried to post. I have been logged out for several days without noticing! I was wondering why the boards have been so quite lately...headdesk! Evil or Very Mad

I had exactly the same problem. I was wondering why everyone was being so quiet.

I'm all spent out from buying up the stamps now.

Hi Ling Chi Smile

Thanks for the welcome. That neomallers program isn't perfect, but it doesn't nearly everything I need, and the interface is good. I also record my sales info at neodaq as a backup. I would hate to lose all my info!

Phew, just sold like 2mil worth of stock in the last hour or so! A bit crazy. I've exhausted both wizards, lol! Once they're back up and running I'll get back to repricing so that hopefully I can offload the rest of my stock.

I've also just been checking out the jellyneo database. I've been using neoitems, but jellyneo is much more helpful for me because you can search for neohome2.0 items Very Happy
It also has an estimated price, but I have no idea how accurate that is...

I like the jellyneo database. When I have a nice long afternoon, and I've got music playing, and a cat asleep on my lap, I spend the extra time updating wiz prices there as I replenish my shop. It's true! Embarassed

Back to business - It's Official!

Spunky, Phoenix Feather Mall has voted to offer you the Furniture and Garden spot in our mall. If you're willing to join, and you have read and agree to abide by the current mall rules, we'd love to have to join us!

:howdy: Welcome!

The code will be updated as soon as I can get Xaheras's attention.

Woohoo!

Of course I'd love to join...seems like just my kind of place Very Happy

I was thinking of specialising in neohomes 2.0 - what does everyone think? I thought I might have a link to the neohomes page and a message about neomailing me if they would like me to stock items from the classic neohomes. I have a feeling most of our customers will have the new homes rather than the classic ones.

I think when I've got some time I'd also like to set up one of my petpages with instructions/ help with neohomes...but enough of my wild ideas.

Can you tell I'm excited? *lol*

Big vote for only NeoHome 2 Items. Its a big category so being picky in your selections is going to be necessary, I wish you the best of luck in choosing. Probably will take a while to hammer everything out, I wonder how far the back pages will sell...in any case, thats for later.

Yeah. I agree you should specialize in 2.0. Smile

I imagine there are not a lot of neohomes 1 around. Smile

Welcome to the mall! I'm a bit late to the welcoming party, but everybody here is a really nice, and I think you'll enjoy the increased traffic due to the mall. I think stocking 2.0 is a great idea, there's a whole gang of really nice items to be had. Once again, welcome!

I'm looking forward to getting this shop up Very Happy

I've been researching and grabbing some items and I'll be online again later to try and get things up and running.
Plus, more importantly, I need to upload my avatar!
